Shogran

From Balakot While driving to Naran, a visit to Shogran is a highly recommended side trip. About 12 km from the village of Kawai, on the main road, a steep climb through dense forest of fir and pine brings you to a plateau of great scenic beauty. Here on the grassy plains one can experience the grandeur of Musa-ka Massala Peak (4,267m)..

The Diwan-e-Am (Hall of Public Audience) is an open pavilion with 40 pillars built by Shah Jahan in 1631 to shelter his subjects when they appeared before him. The marble pavilion and red sandstone balcony at the back of the Diwan-e-Am are originals built by Akbar. Here the emperior appeared daily before the public-who, in his day, crowded under a canvas awning. The serpentine sandstone brackets are typical of Akbar's commissions, with the depiction of animals showing Hindu influence and reflecting Akbar's policy of religious tolerance. His two-storey Diwan-e-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), built in 1566, is behind the balcony and is reached by stairs on the tight.

The Khwabgah-e-Jahangir (Jahangir's Room of Dreams)is the main building running the length of the north side of Jahangirs Quadrangle and is typical of Jahangir's period in its austerity. It is now a museum, containing a huge ivory model of the Taj Mahal, some excellent illustrated manuscripts (including the Akbar Nama, the daily chronicle of Akbar's reign), some beautiful calligraphy, good miniature paintings and a collection of Mughal coins.

Ushu valley in Swat is truly one of the most beautiful valleys in Pakistan.Swat Valley is termed as the little Switzerland of Pakistan because Switzerland is not called Heaven and Neelum Valley is called as the Heaven on earth because it is part of that Heaven on earth which include whole Kashmir. So I think Heaven must be more beautiful than Switzerland so this is Switzerland and Neelum valley is more than that.

You can also hire jeeps or horses if you dont feel like walking to it. you have to cross a glacier on the way to the lake. The whole path is very beautiful and its recommended that you walk to it. In this way you will get to appreciate the captivating beauty on the way.
It was nearly noon when we reached Saif Ul Malook Lake; it was really an awesome place. All the anecdotes we have heard about that lake just seemed to be true as it looks like a part of heaven. People usually come here before sunrise because it is at that time, when the surrounding mountain sees their image in the lake. It is said that the scene is really worth all the pain that one gets in reaching at that place. A guide told me that normally the foreigners come to watch that scene. It is too cold at the lake that one has to be overtly precaution in wearing warm clothes. The water at the lake is too cold that no body can stand it for more than 1 minute. Though all of us tried to have a bet with the guide but after around 30 seconds when our mind started losing our body we have to give up the very idea. May be next time we would have a better chance. There are a couple of restaurants that offer good food and you can enjoy that. The whole lake is worth visiting wholly and that is if you are having time. It takes you about 2hrs to complete a whole round of lake. But there are numerous Khachars available and they take a very less amount for that. If you are curious to get some very good snaps then do visit it as you can find some astounding scenes.

Kaghan Valley is in north west frontier province of Pakistan. It runs parallel from north to south with Swat valley running at its eastern edge and Neelum valley which just runs at its behind the mountains.

The city of Lahore can truly beregarded as such a place. Having seen so many ups and downs of history and cultures, Lahore in itself is now a whole world carrying a multitude of the past and the willingness to excel in the future. From Rudyard Kipling to Abu-Rehan Al Bairooni, from Victorian era to Mughal era, from buildings and gardens to forts, the diversity of Lahore is some times unbearable, yet the bliss is eternal.
